The Pickens County Legislative Delegation is made up of all state Representatives and state Senators from Pickens – state Reps. Neal Collins, Davey Hiott, West Cox, Jerry Carter, and state Senators Rex Rice and Thomas Alexander.
A new report shows that Pickens County legislators appoint local judges, powerful bureaucrats that decide what our kids get taught in school and folks that oversee our county roads and elections.
The candidates for these powerful positions should be appointed in public at regularly scheduled meetings in Pickens County so we can vet them and hold our legislators accountable for their job performance.
Pickens County legislators refuse to do that.
In fact, state Senator Rex Rice (the Chairman of the County Legislative Delegation) has admitted they make appointments by PRIVATE EMAIL.
NO public meetings.
NO vetting candidates.
- a radical social justice activist was appointed to the Pickens County Election Board without any vetting from citizens
- our county and state roads continue to crumble
- our kids are being taught things in school that we didn’t approve or agree to (including CRT and Common Core)
If you want take power back from these politicians, this secrecy needs to end.
Your state Senator Rex Rice needs to hear from you right now.
Call and/or text him with a simple message:
“Every appointment made by the legislative delegation needs to be done at a public meeting in Pickens County so I can vet the candidates and see how you vote.”
Please let us know how he responds.
